According to a 2025 report from HighSpeedInternet.com, 333.1 million people—nearly 97 percent of Americans—said they use the internet. And a large majority of Americans, 85 percent, consider it to be as critical as utilities like electricity, gas and water.
That’s why Newsweek and Statista are proud to present America’s Best Online Platforms 2025, highlighting the top-performing digital services that set new standards for innovation, reliability and user satisfaction.
This year’s ranking recognizes 500 online platforms across 25 industry categories, compiled from a list of over 20,000 companies, which were vetted through an analysis of U.S. traffic and user popularity.
The resulting top platforms were then tested on 29 criteria in four dimensions: mobile usability, traffic growth and technical performance, as well as an online survey analyzing impression, usage and trust.
We hope this ranking serves as a guide for Americans seeking the most trusted and effective online platforms to enhance how we learn, work, shop and connect in meaningful ways.
